Social Media Coordinator

Start: As soon as possible

The Social Media Coordinator for Kelowna Gymnastix/Ambition Parkour Ninja Fitness Academy will be responsible for creating and nurturing a vibrant and engaging community across various social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok for the Kelowna and West Kelowna locations. The primary goal will be to build strong relationships with our audience, drive brand awareness, represent the brand professionally and engagingly, and foster positive interactions within the community. Our Social Media Coordinator should have a deep understanding of social media platforms, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building online communities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive social media community strategy to increase engagement, brand loyalty, and drive positive interactions.
  2. Manage and monitor all social media channels, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
  3. Engage with the community through thoughtful and timely responses to comments, questions, and messages, representing the company’s voice and values.
  4. Proactively initiate and facilitate discussions within the community, encouraging participation and generating user-generated content.
  5. Create and curate engaging and shareable content, including posts, articles, images and videos from the gym and events, and other multimedia assets.
  6. Monitor industry trends, news, and online conversations to identify relevant topics and opportunities for engagement.
  7. Identify and collaborate with influencers, brand advocates, and ambassadors to extend the reach and impact of the community.
  8. Conduct regular analysis and reporting of community engagement metrics, social media performance, and sentiment to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  9. Stay up-to-date with emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices, and continuously suggest innovative ideas to improve community management strategies.
  10. Collaborate with the teams in the gyms to ensure a consistent and cohesive brand presence across all social media channels and continuous content generation.
  11. Monitor and manage online reputation, addressing any negative feedback or issues in a professional and empathetic manner.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. Proven work experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role.
  3. In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, their features, and best practices.
  4. Strong understanding of online community dynamics and experience in fostering engagement and building brand loyalty.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt the brand voice to various platforms and audiences.
  6. Proficiency in social media management tools, analytics platforms, and scheduling software.
  7. Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights to present to management.
  8. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with team members, community members, influencers, and stakeholders.
  9. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to come up with innovative ideas and solutions.
  10. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Gymnastics Coach

Location: 1891 Springfield Road, Kelowna AND/OR 2035C Louie Road, West Kelowna

Start: As soon as possible

Wages: Competitive wages

(Pre-School, After School Programs)

Combination of Coaching and Administrative duties.

Coach the Pre-School program (morning classes) AND/OR Coach the After-School gymnastics and/or parkour classes.

Coaching Duties:

  • Plan, develop and implement daily training sessions.
  • Develop and carry out team warm-up and physical preparation plans.
  • Carry out non-competitive coaching.
  • Supervision during Drop-In times (currently suspended because of Covid).

Other duties:

  • Coach classes as assigned (pre-school, recreational).
  • Communicate with parents on an as needed basis in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other coaches to plan special events.
  • Attend any scheduled coaches’ meetings, and technical/planning meetings as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • National Coaching Certificate Level 1 or Equivalent.
  • Be willing to take training courses in order to coach.
  • Be energetic and actively foster a positive atmosphere.
  • Be approachable and solution oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within gymnastics.
  • Preference given to those with 2-3 years coaching experience.

Assistant Trampoline and Tumbling Coach

Location: 1891 Springfield Road, Kelowna AND/OR 2035C Louie Road, West Kelowna

Start: As soon as possible

Wages: Competitive wages

Part Time Position (10 – 15 hpw) with potential of increased hours.

Coaching Duties: 

  • Assist with developing and carrying out team warm-up and physical preparation plans.
  • Assist with carrying out competitive and non-competitive coaching for occasional school groups/user group bookings.

Other duties:

  • Communicate with parents on an as needed basis in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other coaches to plan special events.
  • Attend any scheduled coaches’ meetings, and technical/planning meetings as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • NCCP Gymnastics Foundations Level 1. This includes the NCCP GF Introduction, NCCP GF Theory (including the MED online evaluation), NCCP GF Trampoline.
  • Be willing to take further training courses as needed.
  • Be energetic and actively foster a positive atmosphere.
  • Be approachable and solution oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with Level 2 training.
  • Preference given to those with 2-3 years as Level 2 coaching experience in gymnastics and/or tumbling and trampolining.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within gymnastics.

Front Office Representative – Regular Part Time

Location: Kelowna Gymnastix, #225 – 1891 Springfield Road Kelowna

Start Date: Flexible

Wages: Competitive Wages

Administrative Duties:

  • Answer phones in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner providing information when requested.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the policies and procedures of Kelowna Gymnastix.
  • Greet clients, including parents and students in a welcoming professional manner.
  • Complete sales using credit/debit card machine.
  • Communicate gym promotions as and when they are offered.
  • Assist with concerns and inquiries, both in person and emails.
  • Develop proficiency with JackRabbit, the gym’s database.
  • Assist coaches with administrative backup support.
  • Liaise and work closely with administrative staff of the Kelowna gym. The Kelowna gym performs most of the administrative duties, including client payments.
  • Some scheduling maintenance may be required.
  • Track inventory and stock supplies as needed.
  • Perform daily light cleaning as outlined.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 graduation minimum.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Office administration training.
  • A minimum of two years recent, relevant secretarial/administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Jackrabbit online class management database.
  • Proficiency with database management and analysis.
  • Applied Business Technology Certificate.
